The annual Berlin Bathtub Races is a quirky sport in a quaint and quirky town of Berlin, Maryland. The Berlin Chamber of Commerce Bathtub Races encourages businesses to participate in a friendly, yet competitive race is open to anyone who wishes to compete. In this unique sport, homemade vehicles amount to bathtubs on wheels, or at least, containers that are in some shape or form of bathtubs mounted on wheels for soap box derby style racing. Racers and spectator alike dress up on fanciful costumes to add to the spirit and fun of the event. Contestants race their modified bathtubs down Main Street as enthusiastic onlookers cheer from the sidelines. Where else are you going to find this?
The races are televised on the Delmarva Sports Network (DSN+), and local media coverage never fail to cover the event. Every Leah is a co-commentator at the event.
